Conferences and Meetings



CSU Linked Learning Community participants meet to share best practices in annual Convenings. They meet regularly with regional school and community partners.  Others involved in Linked Learning, such as the Linked Learning Alliance, organize periodic conventions. CSU Linked Learning Community faculty and researchers present information on Linked Learning at state, national, and international conferences. This page chronicles many of these events.

Recent Events


2017 Summer Convening CSU-CALL


In summer 2017, the CSU CALL at CSU Long Beach hosted the third annual convening. Attendees included members of the Linked Learning Alliance, District personnel currently implementing Linked Learning pathways, faculty members from the various CSU campuses participating in the Linked Learning initiative, and Ed.D. and MA candidates completing coursework and research related to Linked Learning. The convening served as a venue for CSU faculty and district partners to discuss how to develop further, scale up, and institutionalize CSU strategies for educator preparation and professional development for Linked Learning. The convening featured workshops, seminars, and discussion sessions to advance the knowledge base in Linked Learning through research partnerships with school districts.

PBL 101: An Introduction to Project Based Learning for the 21st Century


The CSU Collaborative for the Advancement of Linked Learning (CSU CALL) hosted a three-day PBL Institute for Secondary School teachers, CSU Teacher Educators and District Partners. This three-day institute provided participants with the training and tools to utilize Project Based Learning as an instructional approach to implement the Common Core State Standards, Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and prepare students for college, career, and citizenship in the 21st century. Participants will utilize Buck Institute for Education materials to design, manage and assess standards-focused projects and the student work that is generated by them.
