What are Open Education Resources (OER)? OER are teaching, learning and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits their free use or re-purposing by others. Open educational resources include full courses, course materials, modules, textbooks, streaming videos, tests, software, and any other tools, materials or techniques used to support access to knowledge. Finding OER Easily:

The Lucknow-CSULB collaborative has organized a variety OER collections that can easily discovered at the Hewlett-supported OER Consortium opens in a new window and OER Commons opens in a new window as well as MERLOT’s open educational digital library services and resources.

In addition to the Hewlett-supported OCW, the Lucknow-CSULB collaborative will integrate MERLOT opens in a new window (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching,) into its awareness and assessment phase. The continuously growing MERLOT collection contains over 18,000 free learning objects (from modules to online courses) across a wide range of disciplines with over 3,500 in teacher preparation. MERLOT brings over 10 years experience in OER digital library services.

This section of the website provides links useful for learning about Teacher Education, Educational Leadership, Faculty Development, and more using online resources. University of Lucknow faculty can learn how peers in different disciplines are using digital learning objects and other online resources in their courses.. In addition, links to useful sites for teaching online are provided.
