Teacher Education in the CSU is a community of members-CSU faculty, staff, administrators—that share a common interest in enhancing the preparation of teachers with online resources. The mission of this site is to create a “teaching commons,” a collaborative space that facilitates and supports CSU teacher education faculty by increasing their knowledge, productivity, and professional effectiveness through sharing of pedagogical best practices, digital learning materials, and by building an online CSU Teacher Education community.
Our current focus is on the preparation of teachers to differentiate instruction for “special populations” of students—those with special needs, behavior plans, or identified as gifted or talented. We have developed an array of content and resources for teacher education faculty to infuse into their coursework so that they can meet California State Standard 14: Preparation to Teach Special Populations in the General Education Classroom.
The CSU Teacher Education Task Force (TETF) is a group of teacher education faculty from across the system that has developed the material available on this site. The TETF has been established to support the professional development of CSU Teacher Education faculty in their efforts to provide excellent academic programs for their students. more.
Note: This is a new and evolving website. It has been designed to constantly grow and adapt to the needs of CSU Teacher Education Faculty. Please visit us often, as we continue to add valuable resources and materials!
