The CSU MERLOT Business portal community recognizes exemplary cases, projects and initiatives focused on using online resources to enhance teaching and learning that are happening on different campuses. Here the spotlight is on the achievements and activities of CSU Business faculty and staff that are advancing the field of teaching using online resources.
The College of Business at San Francisco State University has launched a new M.B.A. program with an emphasis in Sustainability. This emphasis provides students with an in-depth appreciation of the environmental and social dimensions of conducting business in a global market. Three aspects of sustainable business that improve a firm's long-term performance will be emphasized: managing risks (regulatory, reputation, litigation, market), values-driven leadership, and recognizing market opportunities created by environmental and social challenges. Learning outcomes include how to articulate the business case for sustainability, develop and lead internal and external coalitions needed to drive organizational change, and implement metrics for measuring progress and providing accountability. more
