Manual Evaluation

Manual testing when combined with automated testing provides a comprehensive approach to accessibility evaluation within an enterprise level environment.

The web accessibility strategy within the California State University’s Accessible Technology Initiative, Office of the Chancellor includes an enterprise level tool. Campus staff use the tool to conduct automated scanning and promote manual evaluation. This tool set is browser based and includes remediation resources. For more information on automated testing, please visit the Compliance Sheriff, Compliance Deputy and Open Source Evaluation Tools sections of this website. There may be times when a quick check will provide enough information to inform further decision making towards the use of accessible technology.

The Quick Manual Checks listed below provide an organized approach to quickly review an application. These checks are included in the CSU ATI Accessibility Checkpoints (CSYou authentication required prior to going to this link). These checkpoints incorporate both Section 508 Standards and WCAG 2.0 Guidelines and are applied within the automated evaluations.
