  • Guidelines for Describing STEM Images for use within Digital Talking Books were published by the National Center for Accessible Media in 2009. These guidelines collected recommended practices for descriptions of science, technology, engineering and math images within digital talking books (DTBs)..
  • Institute for Accessible Science
  • National Center for Blind Youth in Science, operated by the National Federation of the Blind, (NFB) has an excellent collection of articles, recommended tools, research, training materials, and exemplars.
  • The Perkins School for the Blind offers accessible science resources at Perkins Scout and accessible materials for science teachers at Teaching Accessible Science.
  • SciTrain, operated by Georgia Tech, offers online courses in accessible science, math, and computer science training.
  • The National Federation of the Blind maintains the Blindscience website which offers resources on making STEM curricula accessible for individuals who are blind. One especially valuable resources is the Blindmath-Gems site which aggregates the most vaulable posts on a variety of topics from the BlindMath listserv.
